Jimmer Fredette has admitted that he is unsure if he will be offered a new contract with the New York Knicks following his ten-day stint with the struggling side.

The 26-year-old played just five minutes in five games after signing on a temporary deal from the Knicks' D-League outfit Westchester Knicks last month and was an instant favourite with the fans, who were vocal with their support at Madison Square Garden.

"I've had a great experience being here with the Knicks," Fredette told reporters after the Knicks' loss to Portland at MSG last night. "It's a great organisation, and an organisation I grew up watching and loving. I definitely have had a great time.

"I'm just going to work as hard as I can every day and take it day by day. You never know what's going to happen next so it's not necessarily in my control.

"I definitely have had a great time and appreciate the fan support, but at the same time, I don't want to be a distraction, and don't want that to be a distraction to anybody, none of my teammates, my coaches, myself. But I think we do a good job just focusing on the game and focusing on the court."

Last night's defeat extended the Knicks' poor run to 15 defeats in their last 18.
