Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant has insisted that he will not rush back as he recovers from surgery to repair a Jones fracture in his right foot.
The 26-year-old was speaking to the media for the first time since undergoing the procedure, and he was insistent on taking an optimistic standpoint on the situation.
"Everything is progressing, and I'm looking forward to these next few weeks of getting better," Durant told reporters.
"I'm not going to rush it all. That's the one thing I don't want to do. I'm sure I'll feel better in two or three weeks, but definitely don't want to rush it and wind up hurting it even more."
Durant averaged 32 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 81 games last season but he has been ruled out for between six to eight weeks following his injury setback.
