Scott Brooks has said that Russell Westbrook showed that he is an "aggressive" and "talented" player during the Oklahoma City Thunder's win over the Dallas Mavericks last night.

The point guard scored 22 points during the 107-93 victory, which leaves the team fourth in the Western Conference standings.

The head coach told reporters: "It's what we expect. That's who he is. He's an aggressive player. He's a talented player that has improved every year. This is the guy that we all knew what he was going to do when he came back."

Westbrook added: "It was good for me. I'm still on the road to getting back to where I need to be."

Westbrook missed the end of the last season with a knee injury, undergoing two operations which kept him off the court for the first two games of the 2013-14 campaign.
