Orlando Magic star Victor Oladipo has been ruled out indefinitely after he sustained a facial fracture during practice on Thursday.
Oladipo will undergo surgery on Saturday and he will now miss the season opener next week with no date set for his return by the franchise.
The 22-year-old has been sidelined during the pre-season schedule so far due to a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.
However, he is now expected to be missing for a significant spell after receiving an inadvertent elbow during a practice drill.
Orlando selected Oladipo with the second overall pick in the 2013 Draft and he made the NBA All-Rookie first team last season.
