Michael Malone has said that Rudy Gay needed to "bounce back" against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Sacramento Kings small forward scored just six points before being ejected against the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier this week, but led the team with a career-high 41 points in last night's 114-97 win.
The Kings' head coach told reporters: "He put on a show tonight, coming off a game in Oklahoma City where he didn't play very well and got thrown out. He wanted to bounce back and show everybody what he is capable of."
Gay has averaged 20.2 points per game this season.
