Turkey's Yakup Sener has beaten tough Cameroonian Serge Ambomo 19-10 to book his place in the next round of the Olympic light-welterweight class.
Sener started brightly, covering up well to absorb Ambomo's heavy blows before unleashing a few stiff shots of his own to open up a three-point lead.
The Turk was more restrictive in his movement in the second round and stood in front of Ambomo, trying to bring the Cameroonian inside and into range.
Those tactics proved fruitful as he stretched his lead to 11-5 with a few scoring shots.
Ambomo threw everything at Sener in the final round, but he could not do enough to overturn his deficit.
