Team England boxer Scott Fitzgerald has revealed his delight after booking his spot in the semi-finals of the Commonwealth Games.
The welterweight, who has now secured at least a bronze medal at the Games, also hailed the strength of his quarter-final opponent Bowyn Morgan.
"I am over the moon that I've got a bronze medal, but I now need to get myself ready to go to that semi-final and secure at least a silver," he told Sports Mole.
"It was a really difficult fight. I knew how strong and fit he was and I knew he was going to push me all the way. I had to grit my teeth and it shows that I have good levels of fitness. I will take that into the next fight now."
Fitzgerald also revealed that he was "fine" despite opening up an earlier cut in the bout.
