British welterweight Kell Brook has stated his intent to secure a lucrative domestic clash with former light-welterweight world champion Amir Khan.
Khan revealed late on Friday that he had missed out on the chance to face pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather after receiving no contact from the American's promotional team.
Brook, who has been involved in several verbal spats with the Bolton fighter in recent years, has worked himself up the world rankings to become mandatory challenger for the IBF title, but the Sheffield-based boxer is keen to secure a showdown with Khan.
Eddie Hearn, Brook's promoter, has previously stated that he has made a seven-figure offer to Khan, but the former Olympic silver medallist failed to mention Brook when he revealed several names that had been put forward to him for his next bout.
