Mikkel Kessler has hinted that long-term rival Carl Froch has rejected an opportunity to compete in a rubber match between the two later this year.
Froch claimed a points victory over Kessler in May 2013 to unify the IBF and WBA super-middleweight belts, which avenged his earlier loss to the Dane in 2010.
A third bout never materialised as Kessler opted to take a break from the ring, but after he announced his intentions to return to the sport earlier this year, he has indicated that Froch has turned down a recent offer to go head-to-head once again.
In a separate tweet to one of his followers, Kessler said, "Suddenly, none of the "warriors" want to fight", which could be interpreted that he didn't receive a positive response from Froch when a proposal was put forward to the 37-year-old.
Kessler's tweets come after it was reported that he has agreed a deal to face unbeaten American Andre Ward in Denmark in the first week of November.
