British middleweight Martin Murray has revealed that he has been delighted with his preparations ahead of his fight with Domenico Spada on October 25.
Murray will defend his WBC silver title against the Italian in Monte Carlo next weekend, and the St Helens fighter, who has twice narrowly missed out on a world title, is keen to prove himself ahead of a major contest early in 2015.
At the pre-fight press conference earlier on Wednesday, the 32-year-old said: "Preparation has gone well - the nutrition, strength and conditioning, the boxing work that I have been doing with Oliver Harrison - is the best that it has ever been.
"I'm looking forward to showing everyone that I am one of the best middleweight boxers in the world."
Murray has 28 victories from 30 outings, while Spada has won 39 times from 44 matches in the paid ranks.
