British heavyweight David Price won't return to the ring until 2015 after he suffered a bicep injury ahead of his scheduled match with Emilio Zarate in Germany.
The Liverpudlian had been due to make his first appearance in six months on Saturday evening but he has been advised to withdraw from the bout with the Argentine after picking up what is said to be a minor problem.
The 31-year-old said: "It's frustrating as I felt that I was in the shape of my life going into this fight. I've been to see a specialist, who confirmed it was nothing serious, but advised me to avoid the fight on December 6.
"These things happen in boxing. It's a minor injury and I'll be fine in the next couple of weeks. However, it's not worth the risk of fighting before it's completely healed.
"Next year is the big one for me. I will need to be completely fit and injury free. This is just minor setback and I'll be back in the ring and back at my best in the next couple of months."
After back-to-back defeats to Tony Thompson, Price put together three successive wins during the first half of 2014 before undergoing surgery on his hand.
