Junior Witter has said that a return to the ring for Ricky Hatton would be a mistake.
'The Hitman' has been widely expected to announce a comeback this week, but Sheffield native Witter believes that Hatton's lifestyle away from the ring means it would be wrong to do so.
"Ricky likes to go out for a beer. His lifestyle is just not suited to be a professional boxer and it is a mistake for him to come back," said Witter.
"Ricky achieved what he did in a brilliant career, but he is not the type of kid who likes to stay fit and in shape.
"I don't see what is in it for him, you have to come back for a reason and I don't see what the reason is. Ricky doesn't need to prove anything, he had a great career, did remarkably well out of it and should leave it at that, unless there is a purpose behind him coming back - like fighting me."
Hatton's last fight was a defeat to Manny Pacquiao in May 2009.
