The six-year world title reign of Marco Huck has come to an end after he suffered a surprise stoppage defeat to Krzysztof Glowacki in New Jersey.
Huck had been hoping to break British fighter Johnny Nelson's record of 13 successful title defences, but the German was stunned as Glowacki pulled off one of the upsets of the year.
Glowacki was the underdog but arguably had the better of the opening five rounds before he was dropped by a vicious left hook by Huck in the sixth.
The Pole barely made the count but he proceeded to involve himself in an all-out war with Huck, who had at one point been a potential opponent for Tony Bellew.
However, despite trailing on all three cards ahead of the penultimate round, Glowacki floored Huck with a left-right combination before finishing the job when the referee waived the contest off with Huck sprawled through the ropes.
