Luis Ortiz continued to stake his claim for a world-title shot after beating American Malik Scott by a unanimous points decision in Monte Carlo this evening.
Ortiz made light work of a defensive Scott, as the Cuban dominated each round of what was arguably an encounter to forget in order to claim points tallies of 120-105, 120-106 and 119-106 over his opponent.
Scott appeared reluctant to open up or put forward an attacking plan, leaving Ortiz to pick his own shots at will and take the victory without breaking a sweat, despite deciding against forcing a knockout as the fight went for a whole 12 rounds.
Victory for the 37-year-old sees Ortiz remain undefeated across his 26 professional career fights.
