Curtis Woodhouse has lost the British light-welterweight title after he lost on points to Willie Limond in Glasgow.
The 34-year-old, who was also fighting for Limond's Commonwealth strap, had been hoping to continue his development after beating Darren Hamilton earlier this year, but he was outclassed by his Scottish opponent.
After taking the first two rounds, Limond floored Woodhouse with a left uppercut at the end of the third to take full control of the fight, and while Woodhouse battled on gamely, he was always behind on the scorecards.
Woodhouse hit the canvas for a second time at the end of the penultimate round, but once again, he got to his feet to make the final bell.
One judge, somewhat controversially, scored the fight 113-113, but the two other officials scored it 117-109 and 116-111 in favour of Limond, who improves his professional record to 38 wins from 42 encounters.
