Belarus have claimed their first gold medal of the inaugural European Games, courtesy of Andrei and Aliaksandr Bahdanovich's triumph in the men's canoe double 1,000m event.
The brothers finished in a time of 3:34.412 at the Kur Sport and Rowing Centre after producing a strong final quarter to overtake the leading pack of contenders.
Among those in the boxseat heading into the final stretch were Russian Federation duo Alexey Korovashkov and Ilya Pervukhin, who held on for second place to earn a first silver medal for their nation.
Bronze went to Peter Kretschmer and Michael Mueller, who added to Germany's earlier canoeing success on day three of the Games in Mingachevir.
