Australia batsman David Warner survives an injury scare after getting struck on the hand during practice ahead of the first ever day-night Test in Adelaide.

Australia batsman David Warner quickly recovered from slightly injuring his thumb during practice at the Adelaide Oval today ahead of the first ever day-night Test match.

The 29-year-old, who is one of the nation's star batsmen, was looked at by team doctor Peter Brukner after being struck on the left hand during fielding practice.

A few minutes later, Warner, who fractured his thumb during the one-day international series against England in the summer, returned to the field to take part in a session at the nets, dispelling any injury concerns.

Australia's third Test against New Zealand, which begins on Friday, will be the first played under the lights with the pink ball.
