Chris Rogers has conceded that he has not given a recall to the Australian squad for this summer's Ashes in England much consideration.
The 35-year-old has made just one appearance for the Aussies at Test level, despite numerous reports that he was on the radar of the selectors.
That speculation has resurfaced once again, but the batsman has insisted that he is not going to allow himself to get his hopes up.
"It's hard to keep getting excited about the prospect of a recall because I have waited a few years for a phone call and it hasn't come," he told ESPN. "The selectors have gone in a different direction and there are only so many times you can get your hopes up."
Rogers made his solo outing for Australia against India in 2008.
