Australia have taken a 1-0 lead in their Twenty20 series against England thanks to a comfortable 13-run win in Hobart.
The hosts put themselves into bat first and made 213-4 from their 20 overs before England got to a score of 200-9.
Cameron White (75) and Aaron Finch did most of the damage at the crease for the Aussies, while Chris Lynn (37 not out) and Glenn Maxwell (20) also made healthy contributions.
Stuart Broad, Jade Dernbach, Ravi Bopara and Luke Wright all took one wicket each for the tourists, who proved largely ineffective with the ball.
England got off to a bad start in their run chase as Alex Hales (22), Michael Lumb (nine), Wright (nine) and Eoin Morgan (four) were all dismissed within the first six overs.
Ravi Bopara (65 not out), Jos Buttler (20) and Joe Root (32) put up some resistance with the bat, but they were unable to get their side over the line.
Nathan Coulter-Nile ended with figures of 4-31 for the Aussies, while Maxwell, James Muirhead and Moises Henriques were also among the wickets.
The teams meet again on Friday for the second of three matches in Melbourne.
