England opener Adam Lyth has said that he will "cash in" on some runs after failing to make a big dent in the scoreboard in the first two Ashes Tests.
The Yorkshireman has managed a total of 50 runs in four innings so far against Australia but was kept in the squad for the third Test at Edgbaston, which starts next Wednesday.
"I have received a few good balls but I played a bad shot in the first innings at Lord's Cricket Ground," Lyth wrote on his Facebook page.
"All I can do is keep working hard and hopefully there is a big score around the corner. I feel in good nick so I'm not too worried, I'm sure I will get past the new ball and cash in."
The only change made by England for the third Test was to replace Gary Ballance with the in-form Jonny Bairstow, both of whom are teammates of Lyth's with Yorkshire.
