India medium-pace bowler Praveen Kumar has been fined 20% of yesterday's match fee after pleading guilty to a level one breach of the ICC Code of Conduct.
The charge related to an incident in which Kumar had an appeal for leg before wicket against England batsman Kevin Pietersen turned down by umpire Marais Erasmus. The 24-year-old engaged in a debate with Erasmus before being ushered away by teammates.
Following the close of play, Kumar was found to have breached article 2.1.3 of the code, which relates to entering into a prolonged discussion with an umpire about his decision.
Kumar took three wickets as England were all out for 221 on day one of the second Test at Trent Bridge.
