Brighton & Hove Albion have reportedly made a £23m offer for Palmeiras defender Vitor Reis, with the Seagulls looking to beat a number of major clubs to the teenager's signature.
The 18-year-old has been linked with the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal, Barcelona and Real Madrid, and he is regarded as one of the best young talents in South American football.
According to the Daily Mail, Brighton have submitted a bid in the region of £23m for the teenager, as the Seagulls look to complete what would be one of the most spectacular deals in their history.
The report claims that the bid is likely to fall short of Palmeiras' value, but the two teams are not too far apart, with the Brazilian outfit believed to be looking for a fee in the region of £25m.
Reis has made 22 first-team appearances for his current side, and it has been claimed that an agreement would be reached to allow him to spend the rest of the campaign on loan at Allianz Parque.
Leeds 'planning offer for Sheaf'
Meanwhile, Leeds United are reportedly planning to make a move for Coventry City midfielder Ben Sheaf.
The 26-year-old has made 20 appearances for Coventry this season, but he has entered the final 18 months of his contract, and there is currently speculation surrounding his future.
According to Leeds United News, Leeds, who are bidding to secure a return to the Premier League, are ready to make a move for the midfielder in the hope of completing a deal during the January window.
The report claims that Coventry's financial situation could lead to them sanctioning a sale, but any offer would have to be substantial considering his importance to the club, with his valuation thought to be around £8m.
Sheaf came through the youth system at Arsenal and made three first-team appearances for the Gunners before his departure, and it is understood that a number of Premier League clubs are also keen on his signature.
Wrexham 'interested in deal for Woodrow'
Elsewhere, Wrexham are reportedly keen to sign Luton Town forward Cauley Woodrow during the January transfer window.
The 30-year-old has made 13 appearances for Luton during the 2024-25 campaign but is yet to find the back of the net.
According to Football Insider, Wrexham, who are battling to secure promotion to the Championship, are looking to bring Woodrow to Wales before the end of the winter market.
The report claims that the Welsh club are keen to sign two attackers to boost their promotion charge, and Woodrow, who has previously played in the Premier League, is viewed as a genuine target.
The striker has appeared on 30 occasions in the Premier League during his professional career, while he scored 16 times in 31 appearances for Barnsley during his only previous football in League One. body check tags ::
