England batsman Alastair Cook was awarded an MBE by the Queen yesterday following his impressive performance against Australia in the Ashes series this year.
The 26-year-old played an integral part in claiming the famous series against England's Aussie rivals, racking up 766 runs throughout the four Test matches.
"It's been a fantastic couple of years for the England cricket team and for me to be here and get the MBE is an honour - I feel very humble to be given it," said Cook.
"We've achieved some fantastic things - the aim now is to try and continue that success."
The cricketer was presented with his MBE in the inauguration ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
