Stuart Broad has insisted that Ian Bell's England Test career is not over, despite the batsman being left out of the squad for the upcoming tour of South Africa.
There was no place for the 33-year-old in the 16-man party this morning following his disappointing performances against Pakistan.
However, Broad is confident that Bell has the quality to earn back his spot.
"He's a world-class player he'll be really disappointed, but he'll be very determined to work hard and get back in," Broad told BBC East Midlands.
"We know that opportunities do arise - he won't see this at the end of his career. He'll be working hard after a bit of break to improve and put runs on the board. He'll be very determined to get back to his best. That starts by breaking it down and getting back in the nets."
Steven Finn and Mark Wood were also left out of the squad due to injuries.
