England captain Alastair Cook has admitted that victory in a one-day international tournament is high on his side's to-do list.
Cook said that should England win the Champions Trophy it would give them a good chance of victory in the World Cup when it takes place in 2015.
"We haven't won an ICC 50-over event so the Champions Trophy is certainly a priority," Sky Sports News quotes Cook as saying.
"It's here in our home conditions which we hope to make the most of and then in two years' time there is the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. We haven't won that either.
"They are two big tournaments coming up and we have certainly got the team, if we keep developing, to have a chance of winning them."
England recently drew the Test series in New Zealand 0-0 after a dramatic draw in the final match.
