England are just four wickets away from sealing victory in the third Test match with India after a dominant afternoon session.

England have closed in on victory in the third Test match with India after reducing their hosts to 145-6 at tea on day four in Kolkata.

India had threatened a run-fest after quickly acquiring 86 runs without loss at lunch to reduce England's lead to 121.

However, England secured six wickets for just 59 runs after lunch with India still 62 runs away from making England bat again.

India lost Virender Sehwag to the first ball in the afternoon session after he was bowled by Graeme Swann for 49.

Cheteshwar Pujara was soon run out for eight by Ian Bell before Gautam Gambhir edged to Matt Prior off the bowling of Steven Finn for 40.

India were in disarray and it got worse for the hosts when Sachin Tendulkar edged a Swann delivery to Jonathan Trott for five to leave India still 100 runs behind with six wickets remaining.

The crowd in Kolkata were stunned but just as they had regained their breath from a scintillating spell from England, India fell victim to two wickets from James Anderson.

Yuvraj Singh was clean-bowled when a ball from the pace bowler kept low and moments later, Anderson found the edge of MS Dhoni's bat to leave India 122-6.

Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin managed to move India to 145 to delay England taking a 2-1 series lead, but India face a fight on their hands if they are to avoid a demoralising innings defeat.
