England set up a 258 run-chase for India after their innings in Mohali as they aim to level the five-match series in the fourth one-day international.

England have given India a total of 258 to chase following their innings in the fourth one-day international in Mohali.

The visitors surpassed the 200-run mark but they struggled with the bat as England's opening partnership of Alastair Cook and Ian Bell was cut short after Bell was dismissed for 10 by Ishant Sharma.

Cook steadied his side's innings by pushing past a half century but his time at the crease ended controversially when he was declared out for lbw on 76, but the ball was pitched outside leg stump.

The skipper was replaced by Eoin Morgan, who could only muster three runs before getting caught out by Yuvraj Singh, while Samit Patel was forced to make way on just one run.

Despite a tumble of wickets, Kevin Pietersen (76) and Joss Buttler (14) contributed to England's run-rate, while Tim Bresnan was dismissed for a duck and Joe Root (57) and James Tredwell (6) ended the innings unbeaten.

England are currently 2-1 down in the five-match series.
