Steven Finn welcomes England rotation policy

Steven Finn believes that resting key England players on a regular basis will help prolong their stay in the game as well as give younger players a chance to step up.

England and Middlesex bowler Steven Finn believes that the national side's rotation system will benefit future teams.

The selectors have come under slight criticism for chopping and changing the England side for recent contests, with Stuart Broad, Tim Bresnan and Graeme Swann due to be rested for Friday's final one-day international against the West Indies.

"I've opened the bowling for a little while in the one-day team, throughout the winter and into this season it's something that I am enjoying doing," said Finn. "I'm enjoying the responsibility.

"Having those two other senior players missing gives me an opportunity to be an even more senior player within the group. It's an exciting experience - any experience I get of being a senior player is great.

"[The rotation policy] is more of an investment in the future with the rest of those guys also able to prolong their careers and play in the more important games. It also gives the young guys the opportunity to come through and make the most of it."

England are currently leading the one-day series 2-0.
