England cricketer James Taylor has admitted that he feels "overwhelmed" by the outpouring of support that he has received after retiring from the sport with a serious heart condition.
The 26-year-old Nottinghamshire batsman announced today that he has been diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Arrhythmia (ARVC), which was detected after he underwent a scan on Monday.
Many of Taylor's teammates and ex-cricketers offered their support after the hearing the news, while former Bolton Wanderers footballer Fabrice Muamba, who has a similar heart condition, told the sportsman to "enjoy life".
After reading through the long list of messages, Taylor tweeted: "Absolutely overwhelmed with all the support I've received. You don't understand how much it means to me and how much it helps! Thank you!"
Taylor played in seven Test matches for England and 27 one-day internationals.
