Joe Root has claimed that England teammate Steven Finn should be ready if he is required to play in the third Test against India.
The Middlesex pace bowler has been absent with a thigh injury but an encouraging display for the Performance Programme XI means that he is likely to be available for the game in Kolkata.
Root said: "He bowled fantastically well, and got some wickets and good overs under his belt.
"I think he's pretty happy with where he's at now, and it will be interesting to see how things go over the next three days in training.
"I'd like to think he'll be ready. He's got three big training days coming up, so I'm sure he'll find out if he is needed in due course."
The series is currently level at 1-1, with the third Test beginning on Wednesday morning.
