Former skipper Michael Vaughan believes that there is just a "10% chance" of Kevin Pietersen playing for England once again.
The 34-year-old, who is reportedly considering a return to county cricket with Surrey, was sacked by England last year, leaving his international future looking bleak.
Vaughan insists that, while a return is not completely off the cards following England's disastrous World Cup showing this month, it would take a lot for the current management team to welcome him back into the fold.
"It's not more than a 10% chance he'll play for England," he told BBC Sport. "He's had fall-outs with the coach, he's had fall-outs with the managing director, he has fallen out with Alastair Cook, the captain.
"It's a long shot, particularly with this management. But if there is a bit of change, if he is scoring double centuries for Surrey and England continue to play badly, that drum will be getting beaten very loud."
Pietersen scored 8,181 runs in 104 Tests for England.
