England draw series with New Zealand after being bowled out for 255 at Headingley.

New Zealand have beaten England by 199 runs at Headingley to draw the two-match Test series between the teams.

England were set a record total of 455 to win the match, but they could only muster 255 all out as the tourists recorded a convincing victory.

Starting the day on 44-0, the hosts lost five wickets during a disastrous morning session that saw them add just 58 runs to their overnight total.

England's woes began when Trent Boult and Luke Ronchi combined to dismiss Adam Lyth for 24.

Gary Ballance and Ian Bell were then sent back to the pavilion in the space of three overs, with the pair making just seven runs between them. Ballance was bowled by Boult for six, while Bell was caught by Kane Williamson off the bowling of Mark Craig for just one.

With Bell the last to go, Joe Root was the next wicket to fall just two balls later for a duck when Craig struck again, leaving England on 62-4.

Alastair Cook and Ben Stokes put up some resistance out in the middle to give England some cheer, but Stokes fell for 29 just before lunch as he was caught by Ronchi off a Williamson delivery.

Two more wickets fell during the afternoon to leave England on the precarious score of 206-8 heading into the final session of the day.

Cook was the first to go, bowled lbw by Kane Williamson for 56. Moeen Ali followed soon after when when he was bowled by Matt Henry having made two runs off 14 deliveries.

Stuart Broad went just a handful of overs later, with Williamson picking up his third victim of the innings to give him figures of 3-11.

A valiant 73 from Jos Buttler provided England with some positivity out in the middle, though his heroics were not to last as he was eventually dismissed by Craig. With the hosts now hanging on, New Zealand wrapped up the victory when Tim Southee took out Mark Wood for 17.
