India launch an impressive comeback in the evening session to halt Australia on 273-7 from the second day of the third Test in Mohali.

India have fought back against Australia to close the second day of the third Test in Mohali with a seven-wicket haul for 273 runs.

The visitors, who are 2-0 down in the series, looked in control in the morning session of the day by storming to 109 without loss before lunch.

Despite a positive start, wickets began to tumble in the afternoon courtesy of Ravindra Jadeja, who struck twice to dismiss David Warner for 71 and captain Michael Clarke for a golden duck, while Phil Hughes was also sent packing.

The hosts continued to dominate on the field through Ravichandran Ashwin, who dismissed Ed Cowan for 86, while Ishant Sharma got on the wicket-sheet by bowling out Brad Haddin, who hit 21 runs from 36 balls, and Moises Henriques for a duck.

Australia tried to compose themselves by totting up the run-rate but it was short-lived when they relinquished Peter Siddle for no runs.

Steven Smith and Mitchell Starc remain unbeaten at the crease.
