Sean Ervine has agreed a new three-year contract to keep him at Hampshire for the foreseeable future.
The all-rounder has been a regular for the county since arriving in 2005 and he admits that the decision to sign a new deal was an easy one.
Ervine said: "This club is going places and it's an exciting and special time as you can see looking around the ground.
"For me it was just a no-brainer; I love playing at this club. I love the changing room. It's been a very successful period for Hampshire Cricket over the last few years and I can see that continuing."
The 30-year-old's previous deal was due to expire at the end of this season.
