Nottinghamshire have completed the signing of Australian batsman Phil Jacques on a short-term deal.
The 34-year-old, who has played for Yorkshire for the past two seasons, will play for the Trent Bridge outfit until June as cover for Alex Hales, who has been given permission to appear in the Indian Premier League.
Jaques scored 770 runs in 14 matches last season to help Yorkshire finish second in Division One of the County Championship.
"I've spoken to a few of the Australian players who have played for Nottinghamshire and they all speak very highly of the setup, the people and the ground," Jacques told Nottinghamshire's official website.
"I've got good memories of playing at Trent Bridge and I enjoy the proximity to the crowd and the atmosphere created by walking through the members on the pavilion steps.
"A short-term deal fits nicely for me with having a young family and I look forward to making a contribution."
Jaques becomes the second Australian to join Notts this week, following the arrival of Peter Siddle.
