The Northants Steelbacks have picked up just their second victory in this year's Natwest T20 Blast by comfortably beating the Yorkshire Vikings by eight wickets in a rain-affected encounter at Headingley.
The start was badly delayed because of the weather in Leeds and initially reduced to a 14-over contest before a further shower midway through Yorkshire's innings reduced the match further to 12 overs each.
The Steelbacks won the toss and it turned out to be a wise choice as Yorkshire struggled with the conditions and stop-start nature of their innings.
The best that they could manage was 23 from Jonny Bairstow and in 12 overs, they were only able to put up 82-7 as Shahid Afridi (3-15) led the visitors' attack.
Tim Bresnan took the early wicket of Josh Cobb for one, but Richard Levi (35) and Ben Duckett (31 not out) kept the Steelbacks well ahead of the rate.
Afridi came in and hit 14 quick runs to help Northants reach 85-2 with 26 balls to spare.
