Former Zimbabwe captain and current Nottinghamshire Outlaws batsman Brendan Taylor has been found asleep in a stranger's car.
Michael Whitaker, from West Bridgford, found Taylor asleep in his unlocked car when he went to leave for work on Wednesday morning.
Nottinghamshire had beaten Durham in the One-Day cup quarter-finals and, after going out to celebrate, Taylor had been unable to find his way home and took refuge in the car.
Whitaker left Taylor to it and called the police.
"Neither myself, the police or Brendan knew what to do," Whitaker told the Nottingham Post. "I don't think he knew where he was but he was very apologetic and it quickly became clear that it was very innocent.
"Realising who it was made it even funnier because how often do you find an international cricket star asleep in your car?"
No charges have been made against Taylor as no crime had actually been committed.
