Waqar Younis has resigned as Pakistan coach on personal and medical grounds.

The 39-year-old will step down from the role after his side's upcoming tour of Zimbabwe.

"I have tendered my resignation to the board last week and the tour to Zimbabwe will be my last," Waqar said.

"I have taken this decision on personal grounds, including medical grounds, and have no differences with anyone. My resignation has been accepted."

Pakistan's tour of Zimbabwe begins on Sunday, August 28.
