Former Test umpire John Holder has claimed that he was asked to manipulate the result of an international match in return for money.
Holder rejected £10,000 to influence a one-day international between Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Sharjah in 1993.
"They said if I can somehow lull the Sri Lanka batsmen into putting on a partnership of 85 they would give me £10,000 in cash," said Barbados-born Holder.
"I said 'you've got the wrong man'."
This revelation is the latest spot-fixing news, coming days after three Indian Premier League players were arrested in connection with a similar scandal in India.
