Sussex have confirmed that opening batsman Luke Wells has signed a new two-year contract with the Division One club.
Wells scored 942 runs at the top of the order in the County Championship last season, and Sussex have moved quickly to prevent their rivals from targeting the 23-year-old.
"I'm obviously pleased to finally put pen to paper and get things sorted," Wells revealed in a statement released by Sussex. "I absolutely love the club and I've been walking round here for as long as I can remember.
"I'm very proud to represent Sussex and hope I will be able to do so for many years in the future, to bring success to both the club and myself."
Sussex have concluded a number of deals in the off-season, with Tymal Mills and Ajmal Shahzad recently completing moves to the club.
