West Indies wicketkeeper Danesh Ramdin has been banned for two matches and fined his entire match fee for falsely claiming a catch against Pakistan.
The incident took place during the Windies' victory in Friday's ICC Champions Trophy encounter at The Oval.
"This is regarded as a serious offence as it is the responsibility of all players to act in the spirit of the game," ICC match referee Chris Broad is quoted as saying by ESPN.
"I hope Mr. Ramdin has learnt his lesson from this incident and that we will not see such behaviour by him or any player in the future."
Ramdin has the right to appeal against the decision within 24 hours of it being made.
