Luke Woodhouse has dumped Mike De Decker out of the PDC World Championship at the second-round stage on Tuesday afternoon.
De Decker was fancied to have an extended run in the tournament on the back of lifting the World Grand Prix title in October.
However, the 24th seed failed to hit the heights of his performances in that competition as he went down 3-1 to Woodhouse.
The world number 35 stormed out of the blocks to win the first set without reply, before an 80 average proved good enough to double his advantage in the second.
Although De Decker averaged in excess of 107 in taking the third, the Belgian's performance dropped off rapidly in the fourth as Woodhouse sealed the contest with a 90 checkout.
Woodhouse will now take on the winner of the contest between ninth seed Damon Heta and Connor Scutt, who impressed in averaging 101.92 against Ben Robb on Monday.
What else happened on Tuesday afternoon?
Noa-Lynn van Leuven - the first transgender player to participate at the PDC World Championship - appeared well on course to earn a famous win over Kevin Doets.
However, the 28-year-old would eventually go down by a 3-1 scoreline at the hands of Dutch compatriot Doets, who has set up a showdown with former world champion Michael Smith.
Ryan Joyce - a semi-finalist at this year's World Grand Prix - averaged 92.97 on the way to a 3-1 win over Lithuania's Darius Labanauskas.
Meanwhile, James Hurrell, a former WDF world number one, set up a meeting with Michael van Gerwen by registering a 3-0 win over Canada's Jim Long.
