James Wade: 'I feel guilty over Masters win'

James Wade reveals that he felt "guilty" to beat Mervyn King to win the Masters title after overturning a 9-2 deficit to emerge an 11-10 victor.

James Wade has admitted that it will take some time for his victory over Mervyn King to sink in after he overturned a 9-2 deficit to win The Masters.

The left-hander hit a 135 checkout to secure an 11-10 triumph over his opponent to complete a remarkable win which was similar to Wade's demise from a commanding position against Scott Waites in the 2010 Grand Slam of Darts final.

The world number five has revealed that he feels guilty for beating King in such fashion, but he believes that he is the only player that could have pulled off such a fightback.

The 31-year-old told getHampshire: "I'm still a little bit numb, but I'm feeling great and I'm so happy. I shouldn't have won that game but somehow I have and it's not sunk in yet.

"I didn't deserve to win and I feel a bit guilty, but somehow I did it. I've never won a game of darts like that in my life, but I took my chances.

"It hurt to lose to Scott Waites but when the 135 went in I couldn't hold my emotions in any more. I'm stubborn and I believe I'm the only person that could have won that game from that position at the moment."

Wade returns to action at the Grand Slam of Darts which gets underway in Wolverhampton on Saturday.
