Arsenal injury, suspension list and return dates for Crystal Palace: Rice, Zinchenko, Calafiori

Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Wednesday's EFL Cup quarter-final with Crystal Palace.
Sports Mole

The first of two matches in a London derby double-header, Arsenal and Crystal Palace scrap it out at the Emirates on Wednesday evening for the right to advance to the EFL Cup semi-finals.

Mikel Arteta's men have made light work of Bolton Wanderers and Preston North End to make it to the quarter-finals, as they chase a first EFL Cup triumph since 1993, long before most of their players were born.

However, the Gunners' Premier League title charge is continuing to derail, as they cut toothless figures in a goalless stalemate with relegation-threatened Everton on Saturday afternoon.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Arsenal's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their showdown with Palace, who eliminated Aston Villa from the last round.

Declan Rice

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: December 18 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Arteta raised eyebrows when he hauled off Declan Rice just past the hour mark in the Everton draw, and he confirmed in his post-match press conference that the Englishman had asked to be substituted due to a niggle, so it would not be a shock to see him rested for the quarter-final.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: December 18 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Oleksandr Zinchenko has been absent from Arsenal's last three matches on account of a muscular problem, one which is unlikely to heal in time for the visit of the Eagles.

Riccardo Calafiori

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: December 18 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Riccardo Calafiori's knee problem prevented him from turning out in the Everton stalemate, but Arteta confirmed last week that he was "very close" to a comeback, so there is a slim chance that he will take to the field in the quarter-final.

Ben White

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Ben White underwent keyhole surgery to address a serious knee problem during the November international break, and the Englishman will not be seen on the field again for a number of months.

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Fellow right-back Takehiro Tomiyasu has been laid low by two separate knee injuries this season, and the Japan international has been granted leave to spend some time away from Arsenal's training base in the hope of improving his physical and mental condition.

ARSENAL'S SUSPENSION LIST

Arsenal have no players suspended for this match, but on-loan Bournemouth goalkeeper Neto is not available on account of being cup-tied.
