Lincoln City will be looking to claim a third consecutive victory when they welcome Blackpool to the LNER Stadium for Tuesday's League One contest.

Meanwhile, the Tangerines will be aiming to record back-to-back wins after getting the better of Exeter City at the weekend.

Match preview

Preview: Lincoln vs. Blackpool - prediction, team news, lineups

Lincoln are sitting in 11th place in the League One table after winning 10, drawing eight and nine of their 27 matches this season.

Earlier this month, the Imps claimed a narrow 1-0 victory over Northampton Town to end a four-game winless league run.

Lincoln backed up that result with an emphatic 5-1 in Saturday's home clash against Peterborough United, which came courtesy of goals from Dom Jeffries, Tom Bayliss, Freddie Draper, James Collins and a Cian Hayes own goal.

The Imps, who are sitting four points adrift of the top six, will now head into Tuesday's fixture with the chance to record three consecutive league victories for the first time since March/April 2024.

Lincoln may fancy their chances of achieving that feat given the fact that they have won two of their previous three home matches against Blackpool, including a dominant 3-0 win in their most recent meeting at the LNER Stadium in August 2023.

Preview: Lincoln vs. Blackpool - prediction, team news, lineups

Blackpool recently experienced an underwhelming run of results, drawing five and losing one of their six matches in a frustrating winless spell.

Fortunately for the Tangerines, they returned to winning ways in Saturday's away clash, producing a strong first-half performance to end a run of four consecutive league draws.

CJ Hamilton, Tom Bloxham and Ashley Fletcher found the net before the referee blew his half-time whistle, and while Exeter pulled a goal back late on, Blackpool ultimately saw out the contest to seal their first win since the middle of December.

As a result of that 3-1 victory, 14th-placed Blackpool have taken their points tally to 34 from 26 matches, leaving them eight points adrift of the playoffs and 13 points above the drop zone.

Steve Bruce will now be challenging his side to build upon Saturday's success, as the Tangerines go in search of their first away league win over Lincoln since claiming a 2-1 win in September 1998.

Team News

Lincoln are unable to call upon forward Bailey Cadamarteri, who was recently ruled out for up to six weeks with an adductor injury.

Attacking midfielder Jack Moylan will have to be assessed after he missed the win over Peterborough due to an ankle issue.

Collins could be given more valuable minutes as a substitute after he came off the bench to score on his Lincoln debut on Saturday.

As for the visitors, defender Matthew Pennington is set to miss a second straight game with an ankle injury that he sustained against Huddersfield Town earlier this month.

Blackpool midfielder Lee Evans is unlikely to be involved after he sat out the 3-1 win against Exeter with a calf problem.

Bruce could be tempted to opt for consistency and stick with the same lineup that started Saturday's successful visit to St James Park.

Lincoln City possible starting lineup:
Jeacock; Jackson, O'Connor, Roughan; Darikwa, McGrandles, Erhahon, Bayliss, Jefferies; House, Draper

Blackpool possible starting lineup:
Tyrer; Offiah, Casey, Baggott, Husband; Apter, Morgan, Carey, Hamilton; Bloxham, Fletcher

We say: Lincoln City 1-1 Blackpool

Blackpool may have gone six league games without a win before Saturday's victory over Exeter, but they are now unbeaten in five matches after drawing four consecutive matches prior to their trip to Devon.

With that in mind, we think that the Tangerines could play out another draw when they face a Lincoln side that have lost just one of their previous five home league matches.
