Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has said that he felt his team were lucky as they scraped past a stubborn Hamilton Academical side 1-0 at the Pittodrie Stadium this evening.
An Adam Rooney penalty gave the Dons the win, meaning that they are now five points clear of Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
"I felt it was a big effort from everybody tonight to get the job done," McInnes told BBC Sport afterwards. "While the game's always 1-0, it gives them every encouragement to get something and I thought Hamilton played well tonight.
"If we had been offered that scoreline beforehand, we would've take it. We never got the second goal and we had to hang in at the end."
Aberdeen will next travel to Hearts on September 20.
