AC Milan confirm that striker Stephen El Shaarawy is expected to be out of action for around six weeks with a fractured foot.

AC Milan have confirmed that striker Stephan El Shaarawy will be sidelined for around six weeks with a fractured foot.

The Italy international suffered the problem on Sunday during his club's 3-1 defeat at Lazio in Serie A.

Despite playing the full 90 minutes at the Stadio Olimpico, the 22-year-old is now expected to be out of action until March.

El Shaarawy has scored one goal in 16 games for the Rossoneri so far this season.
