AC Milan striker Alessio Cerci has said that he was disappointed with the abuse from the Torino supporters during the Serie A match between the two teams on Saturday evening.
The 28-year-old made his first start of the season against his former club at the Stadio Olimpico as il Toro came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw.
Cerci had spent two seasons at Torino before moving to Atletico Madrid in 2014, and has admitted that he did not plan for such a cold reception from the home supporters.
"The jeers from the Curva Maratona are like a stab in the back that I never would've expected," Cerci wrote on his official Facebook account.
"Martin Luther King said there could be no deep disappointment without deep love first. I try to console myself with that thought. I keep working and push forward this time too."
Cerci is currently on an 18-month-long loan deal at Milan from Atletico.
