AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy has donated a defibrillator to his former youth team Legino.
The donation comes after the tragic collapse and subsequent death of Piermario Morosini on the pitch during a Serie B match between Livorno and Pescara. Bolton Wanderers' Fabrice Muamba also suffered a cardiac arrest back in March.
AC Milan reported on their club website that El Shaarawy travelled to the Ruffinengo centre on Monday to present the medical kit to his former club as a token of his gratitude for the football education he received at Legino.
The 19-year-old left boyhood team Legino for Genoa at the age of 14 and then moved to the San Siro on a co-ownership deal in the summer following a loan spell at Padova.
El Shaarawy has scored two goals in his 20 Serie A appearances so far this season.
