AC Milan midfielder Antonio Nocerino has dedicated his opening goal against Pescara this afternoon to the memory of the children massacred in Connecticut.
The 27-year-old broke the deadlock in the first minute at the San Siro, helping the Rossoneri on their way to a 4-1 victory.
Nocerino said that it was important that the Rossoneri got off to a good start, but turned his attention to more serious matters by paying his respects to the bereaved families of the 20 young children gunned down at Sandy Hook Elementary School on Friday.
"I dedicate this goal to the families of the children who were killed in America," Nocerino told the club's official website.
"I did well to get into the right position and put the ball in the back of the net.
"It was important for us to start well because sometimes we play better in the second half than the first."
Seven teachers also lost their lives in the shooting, as well as lone gunman Adam Lanza, 20.
